EVENT OVERVIEW
Join Chicago Chapter Vice Chairman Glenn Granat on Friday, 28 May 2021 for a brisk 20-mile ruck march to raise awareness for Veteran Suicide Prevention, an event hosted by Chicago Veterans.
Event registration is required (before or at the event - see link below). Please wear comfortable clothing and boots/shoes. Airborne gear is highly encouraged. Contact Glenn at (630) 209-2834 to make arrangements. AATW!
Schedule for 29 May:
0600: Participant Check-In begins
0830: Opening Ceremony
0900: First Wave Step Off
1030-1430: Lunch in Centennial Park in Evanston
1400-1830: End Point Activities
What is the start, lunch (mid), and end point?
- The start point is at Kalk Park: 298 Park Avenue, Glencoe, IL 60022.
- Lunch is in Centennial Park: 1821 Sheridan Road, Evanston, IL 60208.
- The endpoint next to Lincoln Park Zoo: 1746 N. Stockton Drive, Chicago, IL 60614.

Every Memorial Day weekend, veterans, family members, and supporters from all over the United States come together to walk 20 miles to honor and remember the service members we lost at home and on the battlefield. Our 20-mile hike represents the 20 veterans we lose every single day to suicide.
