Remember D-Day – 6 June

Airborne Friends:
Reflect for a moment on June 6 — the 66th anniversary of the D-Day assault on Normandy during WWII. Reflect on the effort and sacrifice of those that participated on that fateful day in 1944, including our Airborne friends with the U.S. 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions and the British 6th Airborne Division.

Watch “The Longest Day”, the beginning of ”Saving Private Ryan” or episode 2 of “Band of Brothers” to get some sense of the events. And… if you happen to know any veterans that were there, contact them today, thank them, and hear their stories first hand. The Chicago Chapter salutes our D-Day veterans – Airborne, All the Way!

Learn all about D-Day at Wikipedia or the U.S. Army’s D-Day website.
